The course is aimed at you if you would like a taster into health and social care and also those who have no prior experience to enable knowledge development to progress to employment in the Health and Care sector.

Eligibility - You must be aged 19+ and live in West Yorkshire.

Industry: Health 

Dates: Courses begin June 2023 and will run until December 2024

Duration: The course is delivered over a six week period Monday and Friday between 9am-4pm

Venue: Classroom learning - Venues across West Yorkshire

Course overview

You will gain an understanding of how the training links to working in the Adult Care Sector and will enable you to gain understanding of the care principles, the role of a Care worker, understanding of Duty of care and safeguarding adults, Health and safety in the workplace and working in person centred way.

There is potential additional units such as infection control, nutrition, manual handling, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberties and dementia care – though is not limited to this

This course is suitable if you are unemployed and looking to gain access to this rewarding sector or those looking to upskill and improve their career progression opportunities.
