Eligibility: You must live in Wakefield and must be aged 19 or older:

  • on or before 31st August 2023 for Skills Bootcamps starting between 01 April 2024 and 31st July 2024
  • on or before 31st August 2024 for Skills Bootcamps starting between 01 August 2024 and 31st March 2025.

Industry: Construction 

Start dates: September 2024

Duration: 12 days

Overview/summary of training

This course is aimed at individuals seeking a career in the construction industry as a Site Operative. The skills, knowledge and certification gained will provide them with the core competencies to work in this role and a foundation from which to build a successful career.

The course is also an excellent route for those looking to undertake a craft or trade but who first want to get an overview of the industry before committing.

Delivered within Castleford College’s purpose-built Brick Workshop, learners will have the opportunity to be in an environment that simulates the conditions of a construction site. Theory will be introduced in the classroom environment and will be embedded throughout practical activities. The course will be delivered over four weeks.
