Duration: Although the length of course is variable based on the modules chosen and the learner’s prior skills; typically 6-days learning will be required to complete the course. 

Venue: Classroom learning, Leeds City Centre

Course overview

This course provides delegates with the essential skills needed to undertake core-activities within General Practice, through a comprehensive initial assessment you will be directed to the most package of modules to meet your own professional development ambitions, as well as the needs of your employer. You will be able to access three fully-funded, immersive, and practitioner-led modules, from the following categories:

  • Self-Directed Study - mandatory/ statutory training 
  • Diabetes Management 
  • Medicine Management 
  • Wound Care Management 
  • Hypertension & Cardiovascular Health 
  • Sexual Health & Contraception 
  • Immunisation & Vaccination 
  • Asthma Management 
  • Phlebotomy 
  • Health Promotion, Counselling, and Motivational Interviewing 
  • Understanding the Quality Outcome Framework 
  • Understanding Learning Disabilities 
  • Ear Care & Irrigation 
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder

What next?

Upon completion you will be qualified to undertake the activities you have been trained in, supporting service users within General Practice and working with colleagues to provide patient care.
