Overview/summary of training

The course is suitable for anyone with a passion to work in Early Education giving children the best start in life. Whether you have previous experience of working with young children, are looking for a career change or beginning your career journey, the Skills Bootcamp in Early Years will provide a firm foundation to move onto paid employment in the sector.

Course units include:

• Understanding the key principles of safeguarding and child protection.
• Recognising the value of play in Early Years and its impact on learning.
• Understanding the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework.
• Fostering personal, social and emotional development in young children.
• Developing children’s early maths & literacy skills.
• Supporting speech, language and communication in young children.
• Meeting the needs of all children, including those with SEND.

What next?

On completion of the course, you could gain employment in a primary school, nursery or preschool, out of school club or become a childminder.
